George Smedinghoff ~ Tribute

The news of George’s passing knocked the wind out of me.  We went to High School, College, worked, bowled, played cards, went to the gym, studied together … the list goes on and on.  I had recently been thinking about him and was intending to get in contact with him since we have been out of touch over the last few years.

Another of life’s lessons re-learned, life is way too short. Don’t procrastinate when it comes to the ones that are important to you.

Hats Off My Friend!

  1. Hi Steve,
I've never met you but we have someone special in common, my little brother, George Smedinghoff. I was missing him so much tonight and googled his name, only to find your tribute. It touches my heart to know that he was so special to so many other people besides just his family. I am sorry you have been out of touch with him in the last few years because you missed seeing him fight the most courageous battle of his life. He is and always will be my hero. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. They brought me comfort tonight.

  2. Steve, This is a touching tribute to your friend. I went to school with both of you and my wife, whom I met later, worked with you both. She and I remember George as a bright, friendly and kind person, which is how we remember you as well. May George Rest In Peace and may you continue to share your thoughts on your blog… It’s a pleasure to hear from you.
