Last Sunday, Adam, Phil, John and I, embarked upon a journey to seek the fountain of our youths. Our destination – the fountains of King’s Island Amusement Park in Mason, Ohio.
The last time (and only other time) I ventured to King’s Island was in the late summer of 1978 when I took my high school sweetheart there and the “Beast” (which opened the following year in 1979) was under construction.
On this trip, within minutes of walking into the park, me and my amigos were strapped into the newest, most modern contraption of eliciting “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah”s from even the eldest of young folks, the “Diamondback”, which proved to be quite an eye opener.
Later, I felt compelled to ride the “Beast” (which has grown rather rickety over the decades… as I guess I also have, somewhat, myself), for the nostalgic value.
We all had a great time!
