After watching the first segment of David Miller’s The Silencing of God, pointing out how God has been systematically removed from our daily lives over the past 50 years here in America, I was impressed by the amount of research Miller had done on the topic. I double checked his assertions and found that he obviously did his homework. That video last night brought to mind an old episode of Red Skelton, a fellow Hoosier whom I had the pleasure of meeting in 1982. As today is election day 2012, I thought this post would be appropriate.

Flags have been at half-mast with the passing of astronaut Neil Armstrong this week, which brought back fond memories of the summer of 1969. Looking back, I recall the enormity of the achievement as it marked the victorious end of Kennedy’s space challenge in which he vowed to “put a man on the moon by the end of the decade”. The awesomeness of the feat has faded considerably over the decades since.Continue reading
