Happy 45th Kim!

Today marks 45 years since the birth of my sister though she didn’t survive past the age of 15.

The last time I saw her alive was when she, mom and Don came to visit Nikki and I in Dallas in the summer of 1985. She had taken a liking to the SMU campus and seemed to be considering it for her college education.

Not only has her absence throughout the years tremendously impacted my life, but I often think about all of the experiences of life that were taken from her – every day, in fact.

Happy BDay Sis!

3 Thoughts.

  1. Others think of you both…more than you know. Your mother, uncle and especially your grandmother were very dear to me.

    • Make that maiden name…Amburn…oops. Lorraine was my great aunt. My grandmother, Jennie, who I never met, was the oldest and Lorraine the youngest of the Murphey children.

      • Hey Jennifer,
I believe he was a great uncle of mine, but Bill Amburn was my favorite! I still remember visiting he and Gordon down in Florida back in the mid 1960’s. Bill gave me a GI canteen from the second world war which I retained for decades – in fact it still may be around somewhere. I knew right away that it was Amburn, I wouldn’t have noticed Auburn if it hadn’t been for your follow up comment.

I genuinely appreciate your thoughts Jennifer.

        Thanks for visiting!
